A natal chart (or birth chart) is a map of the exact position of the planets and constellations at the time, date, and location you were born. In astrology, it acts as a cosmic blueprint to help you understand your core personality, behavioural tendencies, hidden desires, and natural strengths and weaknesses. In combination with a Tarot Reading it offers you an incredible view of your path.

Description
A natal chart (or birth chart) isa personlized map representing the exact positions of the Sun, Moon and planets relative to Earth at the precise moment and location of your birth. It serves as an astrological blueprint used to interpret your core personality traits, behavioral patterns, strengths, and life challenges. (If you do not know your exact time of birth, see the Time of Birth Information Sheet).
The chart is divided into four main building blocks, which form the foundation of any astrological reading:
1. The Planets (The “What”)
Each planet represents a specific energy or function within your psyche.
-
- The Sun: Your core identity, ego, and life purpose.
- The Moon: Your inner emotions, subconscious, and instinctual reactions.
- Mercury: How you communicate and process information.
- Venus: How you love, relate, and what you value.
- Mars: Your drive, ambition, and how you assert yourself.
2. The Zodiac Signs (The “How”)
The zodiac signs act as “costumes” that color the planets, dictating how those planetary energies are expressed. For example, having a Mars in fiery Aries means you are direct and impulsive, while Mars in grounded Taurus means you are steady and deliberate.
3. The Houses (The “Where”)
A natal chart is divided into 12 pie-shaped slices called houses. Each house represents a different arena of life, such as career, relationships, home, or finances. Planets in the 10th House indicate a strong focus on public life and career, whereas planets in the 4th House point to a focus on home and family.
4. The Aspects (The “How They Relate”)
These are the geometric angles or lines connecting the planets to one another. Aspects describe whether the planets are working together in harmony (like a trine or sextile) or creating internal tension and drive (like a square or opposition).
The “Big Three”
If you are just getting started, astrologers recommend looking at your three primary placements:
- Sun Sign: Your primary identity (what your birth date determines).
- Moon Sign: Your inner emotional world.
- Rising Sign (Ascendant): How the world perceives you and your initial approach to life. (You need your exact birth time to calculate this).
…and so much more!!!
